Recently, the important compliance document for product exports to Gulf countries - the GCC logo certification, has undergone a key standard update! The latest version of IEC 61000-3-2 for electromagnetic compatibility of household appliances has been officially mandatorily implemented. Products that have not completed the certificate update will face risks of export clearance obstruction and inability to enter the market. Please, relevant enterprises must attach great importance to this!

The GCC logo certification certificate is an important document for products to enter the markets of the 7 Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, etc.). Its certification generally adopts the latest versions of GSO/IEC standards. Currently, the transitional period for many IEC standards has ended, and the IEC 61000-3-2: 2018/AMD2: 2024 standard has been officially mandatorily implemented since March 4, 2026.

This means that all related household appliance products exported to the Gulf countries must strictly meet the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of the latest version of the standard. At the same time, the GSO system has completely suspended all GCC certificates based on the old standard. Products that have not updated their certificates in time will not be able to smoothly enter the markets of the seven Gulf countries, and the export or clearance process is also very likely to encounter obstacles, which will directly affect the delivery of orders and market layout by enterprises.

Enterprise response suggestions:

1. Immediately conduct certificate verification to quickly confirm whether the existing GCC certificate is based on the latest version of IEC 61000-3-2, sort out the certificate validity period and applicable product range, and establish a certificate ledger.

2. Promote product compliance self-inspection, conduct electromagnetic compatibility testing in accordance with the new standard requirements, and promptly complete technical rectification for non-compliance items to ensure that the core indicators of the product meet the standards.

3. Efficiently connect with the certification agency to quickly contact a professional institution to complete the validity assessment of the certificate, if necessary, update, renew or apply for a new certificate, follow up on the process throughout, and shorten the certification cycle.

4. Plan the production and shipment schedule, incorporate the compliance of GCC certificates into the pre-requisite requirements for order production and logistics shipment, reserve certification time in advance to avoid shipment delays due to certificate issues.

5. Establish a standard tracking mechanism, arrange dedicated personnel to monitor the update dynamics of GSO/IEC standards in the Gulf countries, and plan product design and certification planning in advance to avoid subsequent compliance risks.

6. Retain certification-related materials, properly preserve the new standard test reports, certificate update documents, etc., to ensure that the export clearance process can provide compliant certificates quickly, and smoothly clear customs.

Warm reminder:

The IEC 61000-3-2: 2024 standard has been mandatorily implemented. ZRLK suggests that appliance enterprises planning to enter the markets of the Gulf countries should immediately start product compliance self-check and GCC certificate review work, prioritize completing the electromagnetic compatibility performance testing and rectification in accordance with the latest standards to ensure that the product's design, production and certification process fully complies with the mandatory requirements of the seven Gulf countries, avoiding losing the Gulf country market due to compliance issues.
